Preparing a Stick...
In my earlier e-mail I mentioned that you needed to bring a gift for the fire. Let me explain a bit more about what that can be.

1) Preferably something from nature or that you made that is safe to burn

2) Symbolic, this can be something that symbolizes a change you wish to make, an influence in your life that you are letting go of, an influence in your life that you are recommitting to. The key here is that you know what it symbolizes to you, and that you prepare it with intent. Preparation can be anything from blowing the intent into a stick, to complicated drawings on paper, to rattles (that you bring), to lists. If you have an idea and aren't sure send me an e-mail and we can see how it will work.

3) Calm, be sure that whatever you bring to the fire you are ready to see actualized. If you come to let something go, it will be gone. If you are renewing a commitment, then the universe will expect you to keep to that.

4) INTENT, as with most ceremony, what matters most is your intent. If you are thinking about your second cousin's wedding when you come to the fire, it will not be very
powerful for you, and could potential reduce the ability of the group to tame the fire.

Huh? Tame the fire?

Okay, taming the fire is a process to bring us as individuals and as a community in energetic/spiritual alignment with the fire. This allows us to not be burned by the fire while we give it whatever it is we need to. It also lets the fire speak to us as we give it our gift.

We do this by chanting and rattling together (if you do not have a rattle, that's okay, I have extras, if you do, please bring it. It will let you connect with your own tools :).

Another thing that can be done in fire is re-energizing your own tools. I run my mesa through it, I have had others bring Atheme's, journals, stones, whatever.

If you have any questions or want to help by bringing something please e-mail me.
Also, if you know someone has not contacted me directly, then please forward this on to them, or check and see if they have with me.
